Thus the recognition of the General Manager of Internet Explorer (IE) Dean Hachamovitch

“HTML5 specification describes the support of the video without specifying a particular video format. We think H.264 is a very good format for her support HTML5, IE9 later will also support H.264 video playback,” he explained, as quoted by Softpedia, Sunday (5 / 2 / 2010).

“H.264 is an industry standard, with extensive hardware support and strong. Because of this standardization, you can simply accept what you are recording, even with the video on a normal camera, then put it on the site with the operating system or device with the support of H .264. For all these reasons, we focus on the HTML5 video and H.264 support, “he added.

Although the video format will be very interesting if paired with H.264, Hachamovitch admitted that the majority of Internet video is still dominated by Flash-based.

“Flash does have some issues, particularly around the reliability, security, and performance. Even today, Flash is still a vital part in providing the best customer experience on the site until today,” he said.

The development of HTML5, next-generation standard web pages, continues to be encouraged by Google. Google scientists had successfully used it to run the game Quake.

As quoted from the official Google Web Toolkit blog, Saturday (3/4/2010), the legendary three-dimensional game Quake works with HTML5 Tested By Google researchers.

the Quake game which in its time need big computer resources now can run on an Internet browser smoothly. By using HTML5, and even run without the plug ins like Adobe Flash.

“We were really surprised to see games that can penetrate to 30 frames per second in our laptops,” wrote Chris Ramsdale from the Google Web Toolkit team.

Quake version that used are Quake II. Researchers at Google’s expanding from Jake2, Quake II port to Java, then use the Google Web Toolkit and other technologies.

Though still a laboratory product, which performed this experimental success shows the potential of HTML5 is quite interesting. In addition to the games, HTML5 browsers will be able to play any video without the need plug ins.

To prove it, researchers have been showing a video on YouTube. In addition, they also share the code behind the experiment.
